23- Andrea I
Dive site number 21 – Andrea I is a popular and easily accessible dive and snorkel site on Bonaire. Read on to discover why this location is so well loved.
Andrea I is located on the west coast of Bonaire, just south of Andrea II. The parking area is small, so it’s wise to park strategically. From there, you walk approximately 65 feet through the bushes to reach the entry and exit point, which is surprisingly easy to use. You enter the water between a few coral rocks and swim over a shallow sand and coral plateau. The reef begins at a depth of 6 feet and gradually slopes down to 80 - 100 feet. Colorful corals provide shelter for tropical fish, parrotfish, and occasionally a curious turtle.
The dive site is known for its excellent visibility and is ideal for both divers and snorkelers. The shallow plateau allows for relaxed exploration, while more advanced divers can enjoy small drop-offs and a rich variety of marine life. The calm conditions make it easy to explore at a comfortable pace, making Andrea I a perfect place to spend several hours underwater without having to go too deep.

💡Personal advice💡
- Andrea I is somewhat hidden behind a residential area. When parking, keep in mind that it should be easy to drive away again. Space is limited, so I personally like to park with the car pointed toward the exit to avoid feeling stuck.
- The entry and exit point is located behind some bushes, so you will need to walk through them with your diving gear. Once in the water, it remains shallow for a long distance.
- Andrea I and II together have a total of seven buoys, which can be used as natural reference points both above and below the water. The dive site buoys are yellow, while the other buoys are white.
